In larger office or manufacturing spaces, manually controlled light sources can often result in lights being left on all day, rather than being turned off when the area is not in use. For housing associations and condominiums, this can be a very good idea. Staircases and common areas are something that are rarely used for a long time at a time. Lighting of these areas is often only a need if there are no sources of normal daylight, and can therefore also be regulated by a sensor that registers this and turns on when daylight disappears.
Identify areas for improvement and take action
As previously mentioned, there is much to be gained from raising awareness of both consumption and needs. It is strongly recommended to map the current situation for the company or building you manage, to get an overview of what your consumption is today.
