Enova new support schemes

Enova's Funding Programs for Energy Efficiency in Commercial Buildings

In a recent move to strengthen energy efficiency efforts, Enova has launched three new programs aimed at energy efficiency in existing buildings. These programs are designed to improve sustainability in both commercial buildings and housing companies.

“We want to increase demand for energy measures in buildings”
“This will give the construction industry lower energy costs and more attractive buildings.”
– Anna Barnwell, Marketing Manager at Enova

These measures come in response to the growing need to reduce the climate footprint of the construction sector. As Minister for Climate and Environment Espen Barth Eide pointed out:

“Efficient use of energy is a prerequisite for the transition to a low-emission society. The government has therefore specified Enova's mandate related to energy, so that it now includes energy efficiency in all sectors. Enova's focus on energy efficiency in commercial buildings and residential condominiums is an important contribution to saving energy. It is good for both the climate and nature.”
– Minister of Climate and Environment Espen Barth Eide (Labour Party)

Details about the three programs:

  1. Improving the energy performance of commercial buildings: This programme provides investment support for projects that improve the energy performance of existing commercial buildings by more than 20%. It is particularly targeted at buildings with high potential for energy improvement. The support can cover up to 30% of the costs with a maximum limit of NOK 10 million.
  2. Energy assessment in commercial buildings: Enova offers support for energy assessments of commercial buildings. The assessment will provide owners and tenants with a thorough overview of the building's current energy status and improvement potential. The support can cover up to 50% of the costs with a maximum limit of NOK 400,000.
  3. Improving the energy status of housing associations and condominiums: This program provides support to housing associations and condominiums that want to improve the energy status of their buildings by 20% or more. The support can cover up to 30% of the costs with a maximum limit of NOK 10 million.
